Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Database Administrator to join our team in Crane, Indiana. This is an onsite position. As a core member, you will assist in the research & design, engineering, integration, testing, training, logistics, laboratory research, field engineering, and acquisition and operations analysis in support of a variety of Navy and Marine Corps programs and projects with a focus on defensive cyber technologies, mission assurance, and resilience capabilities for the tactical network environment. Your effort will go towards dramatically increasing the warfighter's effectiveness. If you enjoy working on a highly collaborative and dynamic team and want to make a difference for the warfighter, then we would love to have you on our team! Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Architect, deploy, and manage high-performance database systems using SQLite or PostgreSQL, ensuring scalability and reliability for mission-critical applications.
* Drive performance tuning and optimization initiatives, diagnosing and resolving bottlenecks to keep systems running at peak efficiency.
* Establish and enforce comprehensive backup, recovery, and security strategies to protect data integrity and ensure business continuity.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design database solutions, and integrate them seamlessly into broader infrastructures. Minimum Qualifications: * 12+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, with deep expertise in SQLite or PostgreSQL environments.
* BA/BS degree or High School Diploma and 6 years of additional relevant experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional relevant experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
* Mastery of database design principles, including normalization, indexing, and advanced query optimization.
* Extensive experience managing complex databases, with a focus on backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
* Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a track record of resolving complex database issues under tight deadlines.
* Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills, with experience guiding and inspiring technical teams. Preferred Qualifications: * Proficiency with additional database platforms such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, showcasing versatility in database management.
* Skill in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate routine database administration tasks and boost efficiency.
* Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL workflows, or business intelligence tools to support advanced data analytics.
* Expertise in leveraging database monitoring and performance analysis tools to proactively maintain system health. Clearance Requirements: * Must have a current/active Secret security clearance. Physical Requirements: * The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
