Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst (Perm – Days)
Location: Grand Blanc, MI 48439
Start Date: June 30, 2025
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Hybrid Eligible)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Shift Type: Days
Weekend Requirements: None
On-Call Requirements: None
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000/year (Dependent on experience & education)
Position Overview:

McLaren Health Care is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join its Decision Support team. This permanent role offers a hybrid work model, with preference for local candidates able to attend occasional in-office meetings in Grand Blanc, MI. The analyst will deliver financial and statistical insights to support corporate decision-making and operational performance improvements across the health system.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-level financial and operational analysis to support corporate strategy and decision-making.

  • Identify cost control and management opportunities and make actionable recommendations.

  • Use tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, and Access to extract and analyze large data sets.

  • Evaluate proposals, programs, and operational changes to determine financial impact.

  • Prepare detailed cost accounting and proforma analysis.

  • Assist in system implementations and data integrity reviews.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve reporting systems and processes.

  • Maintain reporting accuracy and ensure data quality and consistency across systems.


Required Qualifications:

Candidates must meet one of the following combinations:

  • Option 1:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Healthcare Administration – Required

    • Minimum 5 years of healthcare finance or financial analysis experience including:

      • Working with clinical/claims and hospital financial data

      • Large database analysis and cost analysis

      • Proficiency in data extraction and tools like Excel and Access

  • Option 2:

    • No Bachelor's degree

    • 10 years of healthcare finance/analysis experience including:

      • Clinical/claim and financial data work

      • SQL, Access, and Excel (advanced level)

      • Strong background in data extraction and analysis


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration

  • 1+ year experience with healthcare contract management and reimbursement methodologies

  • Advanced skills in:

    • Tableau – Strongly Preferred

    • SQL – Strongly Preferred

    • Cost Accounting & Proforma Analysis – Strongly Preferred
