The Position

The Opportunity

The Data Product Owner plays a critical role in driving the success of data products that power strategic decision-making across the organization. This individual will define, develop, and manage data products that enable high-quality, secure, and accessible data, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regulatory requirements. By bridging the gap between business, data engineering, and governance teams, the Data Product Owner will help unlock actionable insights that enhance customer experience, optimize financial performance, and streamline operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a data product roadmap that supports customer insights, financial intelligence, and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify high-value data opportunities and transform them into scalable products.

  • Prioritize data product features and enhancements based on business impact, feasibility, and compliance requirements.

  • Advocate for data as a product, ensuring accessibility and usability across the organization.

  • Partner with the business to establish governance policies, data definitions, and quality controls that drive trust in data.

  • Define and enforce data SLAs (Service Level Agreements), lineage, and metadata management to ensure consistent data usability.

  • Ensure data products comply with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations while maintaining high data integrity and security.

  • Act as the primary liaison between RDT data engineers, business leaders, analysts, and platform teams to ensure seamless implementation of data products.

  • Work closely with the Global RDT data platform team to integrate self-serve analytics capabilities, enabling faster and more informed decision-making.

  • Champion data democratization, ensuring the right data reaches the right users in a secure, governed, and intuitive timely manner.

  • Define and track KPIs for data product performance, adoption, and business impact.

  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve data products and ensure they align with evolving business needs.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in data mesh, AI-driven analytics, and healthcare data innovation to drive future growth.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of experience in data product management, data governance, or data engineering, preferably in healthcare, life sciences, or diagnostics.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise data assets and products that directly enhance operational efficiency, customer insights, and strategic business/financial decision-making.

  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements and specifications, acting as a strategic bridge to communicate the value of data across all levels of the organization.

  • Technical proficiency in SQL, data modeling, cloud platforms (specifically Snowflake), and leading BI tools (such as Tableau or Power BI) to effectively analyze, understand, and visualize data.

  • Strong capability to proactively identify data quality issues, partner with business domain teams to perform root-cause analysis on multi-system data discrepancies, and design scalable, sustainable data solutions or products to resolve complex business challenges.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $108,400 - $201,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
