Job description

URGENT REQUIREMENT

Sr. Data Modeler

Location: McLean, VA

Type: 12+ Contract

(Onsite Position)

Candidates who are already local to the McLean, VA area are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Core, hands-on experience in enterprise data modeling with data modeling serving as the candidate's primary responsibility and not simply exposure as part of a Data Engineering role.
  • Recent hands-on experience with MongoDB, including designing or working with document-based data models.
  • Strong mortgage domain experience with recent and consistent involvement in mortgage-related projects. Experience supporting Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Snowflake.
  • Experience modeling JSON and other semi-structured data.
  • Solid understanding of data integration, ETL, and enterprise data architecture.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across both technical and business teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to think independently, solve problems proactively, and contribute ideas rather than simply executing assigned tasks.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multi-family mortgage or housing finance data
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms beyond Snowflake
  • Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments
