  • Experience with vehicle level tests and various component-level industry tests/standards is preferred.
  • Responsible for collaboration and coordination with stakeholder and cross-functional teams to address corrosion risks, concerns and failures.
  • In-depth understanding of fundamental corrosion mechanisms with vehicle knowledge to help identify root cause, apply corrosion theory and provide practical technical solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end planning, coordination, preparation, documentation and execution of vehicle-level corrosion test programs.
  • Utilize tools like Confluence and Jira to document test plans, procedures, and results
  • Track test progress, timelines, and milestones, ensuring transparency and accountability within the team and cross functionally
  • Ensure external test facilities' adherence to Rivian test protocols and capture critical data throughout the test
  • Log, categorize, and prioritize test findings and issues. Work closely with design and development teams to integrate test feedback into product improvements
  • Drive optimization efforts in testing procedures to reduce lead times and resource requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in failure analysis, vehicle testing, project management and stakeholder management, including applicable internship experience.
  • Experience in automotive testing procedures and standards.
  • Understanding of various vehicle systems, subsystem interactions and failure modes.
  • Knowledge of relevant automotive industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Preferred: An understanding of corrosion engineering, vehicle diagnostics, materials science, protective coatings and surface treatments.
