Position Summary
Doane University is hiring a Senior Creative Manager who is an integral part of the Office of Strategic Marketing (OSM). The position reports to the Director of Marketing and manages Doane's overall brand, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all media/outlets. Primarily, this position will develop and maintain the Doane brand, develop video creative, participate in strategic planning, and design and develop marketing and advertising collateral pieces based on established brand and design standards and desired objectives. In addition, this position approves/guides the design process of externally created materials.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree plus three years of progressively responsible design experience in:
  • Creating marketing/advertising campaigns - from developing the vision and messaging platform to overseeing production on time and within budget
  • Creating integrated content across all marketing channels: digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print
  • Developing successful concepts
  • Working with Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • Digital asset management software

Experience must demonstrate:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of paper, inks, prepress processes (including bleeds, separations, PDFs, etc.), and understanding of print production (monotone to four-color printing, spot colors, coatings, etc.).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of designing for digital mediums (websites, applications, emails, etc.) and associated processes (RGB vs. CMYK, resolution, aspect ratios, etc.).
  • Support video creative to include storyboard, preproduction, video editing, and post-production.
  • Spearhead and manage content strategy for projects, harnessing brand design, copy, art and digital technology.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite apps, Microsoft products and other design tools. Proficient in both Mac and Windows environments.
  • Superior communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure, handling multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • Strengths in creative typography, corporate branding and application of branding/visual standards.
  • High energy, self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment. Collaborate with the team in developing marketing creative, analyzing results, and identifying opportunities.
  • Expertise in developing marketing creative that translate objectives across business units into clear and motivating creative strategies
  • Skilled at prioritizing work and resources across engagements, based on short- and long-term needs, and developing schedules by collaborating with the OSM team.
  • Ability to review and approve art and copy developed by the team, ensuring that deliverables address marketing goals and challenges effectively.
  • Skilled at producing fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for audiences.

Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree is preferred as well as:
  • Experience leading other designers/students
  • Experience as a copywriter, graphic designer or production artist
  • Experience in project management, with a focus on creative direction
  • Experience in video creative
