Content Creator/Senior Content Creator/Social Media amp; Content Manager
Coe College seeks qualified candidates for the Content Creator/Senior Content Creator/Social Media amp; Content Manager opening in our Marketing Office. This role uses their creative spirit to develop content that captures the excitement and possibilities of life on a college campus. This written and visual content-centric position will demonstrate the impact of a Coe education via original and trending content and campaigns within established brand standards specific to the web, video, social media and other communication avenues. The Content Creator/Senior Content Creator/Social Media amp; Content Manager will develop social media content geared toward a variety of audiences but typically focused on peaking the interest of Gen Z and Gen Alpha prospective students. With social media serving as a critical driver in the college’s outreach and storytelling efforts, this role is pivotal in amplifying the brand and driving meaningful engagement in advancing the institution’s marketing and enrollment objectives. Other responsibilities include monitoring and managing interactions on the college’s social media channels as well as compiling and assessing data and analytic metrics.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • In a fast-paced setting, generate ideas including original, relevant and trendy content for the various marketing mediums based on the college's mission and strategic goals.
  • Assess analytics and develop content to increase engagement and visibility of the college across social media platforms and the website.
  • Work as part of a team to manage and maintain a planning calendar to ensure frequent and relevant engagement across social platforms.
  • Monitor, manage and report on comments, interactions, engagement and paid social media efforts while staying informed of market trends to advise marketing leadership.
  • Must be able to develop content in a clear and easy-to-understand format regardless of the medium and in high-pressure situations that include time constraints.
  • Understand and apply the existing Coe College brand (tone, voice, etc.) to all work.
  • Develop landing pages and microsites as needed.
  • Serve in a supervisory role for social media student assistants and the mascot program.
  • Contribute to other marketing efforts as needed and directed by the Director and Executive Director.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 1-3 years of experience in marketing and written content development. 3-4 years of experience in marketing and written content development required for Senior Content Creator, 5-7 for Social Media amp; Content Manager
  • Knowledge of marketing on social platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn including data analytic metrics.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication, listening, writing and proofing skills.
  • Multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • An eye for photography and visuals used in social media.
  • Excellent command over written English and AP Style (or a desire to learn AP Style), with the ability to switch to appropriate social media tone as needed and according to the various platform norms.
  • Knowledge of the general functionality of a website CMS is desired.
  • Knowledge of SEO or a desire to learn the basics of SEO.

  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with people from a wide variety of offices and maintain a positive atmosphere while working under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Ability to excel in high-pressure situations.
