The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for complex, high-value capital projects including major renovations, expansions, ground-up design-build and build-to-suit construction. Construction Managers are Ownerโ€™s representatives who focus primarily on capital projects and project-based facility improvements. Facilities-related involvement may occur where work is complex, high-impact, or capital in nature.

What youโ€™ll do: Strategic Project Leadership
  • Lead complex or high-value capital projects, including major renovations, expansions, ground-up design-build and build-to-suit construction

  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects

  • Provide strategic input on project planning and execution

  • Engage senior leadership and key stakeholders as required

  • Serve as primary contact and provide regular project updates to stakeholders

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scopes and translate requirements into detailed estimates to establish project budget parameters

  • Identify potential risks and value engineering opportunities

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update project schedules to track key milestones, deliverables, and completion dates while proactively identifying and addressing potential delays

Project Delivery, Procurement & Financial Management
  • Manage complex project delivery methods

  • Develop comprehensive bid packages, including scopes of work, technical specifications, and project requirements

  • Prepare detailed bid analyses and cost comparisons and provide strategic contractor recommendations for presentation to senior leadership

  • Oversee project budgets and financial performance

  • Lead contract negotiations and risk management

  • Manage project closeout

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Lead and coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors

  • Mentor junior team members

  • Drive collaboration across internal and external project stakeholders to support successful execution

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • 10-15 yearsโ€™ related experience in commercial construction, managing projects

  • Advanced knowledge of building systems and construction processes and procedures

  • Proven management and leadership of complex projects, including ground-up build-to-suit and design-build construction

  • Strong team leadership capabilities

  • Experience with large-scale or multi-site projects, including demonstrated experience successfully delivering ground-up build-to-suit and design-build construction projects

  • Background in complex delivery methods

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for construction due diligence, regulatory compliance, permitting strategy, and code interpretation across a diverse portfolio of projects

  • Leads complex due diligence efforts by directing multidisciplinary consultants, evaluating technical reports, assessing entitlement risks, and developing mitigation strategies to support informed real estate and construction decisions

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, stormwater regulations, fire and life safety requirements, accessibility standards, environmental regulations, and Certificate of Occupancy requirements across multiple jurisdictions

  • Proficiency with construction project management software and demonstrated ability to effectively leverage technology platforms to manage project documentation, workflows, and reporting; experience with Procore or similar systems preferred

  • Industry-related certifications

  • 60-70% Travel required throughout regions (including overnight stays)

  • Extended hours during critical phases

  • Use of PPE required
