The Opportunity:
As a defense mission professional, you ask questions others don't. You understand the nuances of complex situations. You use your skills to think bigger and push further, solving complex problems. We're looking for an expert like you to drive solutions for missions that keep our nation safe.
On our team, you will apply your language expertise to analyze global, regional, and trans-regional online media landscapes that impact Combatant Command missions. You will examine online news sources, social media posts, URLs, comments, and other digital content to help identify emerging narratives, influencers, and geopolitical dynamics. You will stay current on cultural, political, and ethnic developments to provide insights that help operational planners understand how information circulates across the digital environment. You will leverage advanced tools-including search engines, commercial analytics platforms, language processors, and web crawlers-to rapidly assess content and deliver high-confidence findings. You will also conduct translation quality assurance and quality control on human and machine-generated products to ATA or equivalent government standards, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all language-based deliverables. You Have:
  • Experience with linguistic analysis or foreign-language research in operational, intelligence, or academic environments
  • Experience analyzing social media, online forums, news sources, or digital communities
  • Experience conducting rapid assessments of content using search engines, commercial analytic tools, automated language processors, or web crawlers
  • Knowledge of linguistic variation, dialects, and language-specific cues influencing interpretation or meaning
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to planners, analysts, and operational stakeholders
  • Ability to show a score of 3/3 on the ILR or DLPT in the Farsi language
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of experience in linguistic translation or Master's degree and 10+ years of experience in linguistic translation

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with CCMD decision-making processes
  • Experience performing translation quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on human or machine-generated products
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of foreign-language digital content and produce concise, operationally relevant insights
  • Ability to show a score of 4/4 on the ILR, DLPT, or equivalent in the Farsi language
  • Master's degree in a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
