What is a senior competition economist?

Senior Competition Economists are experienced professionals who analyze market competition, assess the impact of mergers, and advise organizations or regulatory authorities on competition policy and antitrust issues. They use advanced economic theories and quantitative methods to evaluate whether business practices or market structures harm consumer welfare or restrict fair competition. Their expertise helps shape regulatory decisions, guide corporate strategy, and ensure markets remain competitive and efficient.

Strong communication, critical thinking, and stakeholder management skills distinguish top performers in this role. These skills ensure accurate economic assessments, effective advocacy, and meaningful contributions to complex competition policy and litigation matters.
