The Senior Manager - Collaboration & Productivity Architect is accountable for the strategy, delivery, and optimization of enterprise collaboration platforms, including Office 365, Teams, and Zoom. This leader ensures that collaboration tools are reliable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards, while driving adoption and enhancing the digital colleague experience. The role partners across IT and business units to deliver seamless collaboration capabilities that enable productivity and innovation.


Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing collaboration engineering team, fostering engineering rigor, automation, accountability, and continuous improvement, with clear roles across architecture, engineering, operations, and support tiers.
  • Define and evolve the enterprise collaboration architecture, including Microsoft 365 tenant design, SharePoint information architecture, and Teams/Zoom service models, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business strategy.
  • Establish and execute the platform roadmap, reference architectures, and design standards to ensure collaboration capabilities support enterprise priorities, scalability, performance, searchability, and compliance.
  • Ensure secure integration with Active Directory / Entra ID and enforce enterprise identity, access governance, and Zero Trust principles in partnership with Cybersecurity, aligning with CIS benchmarks and audit expectations.
  • Define and enforce enterprise governance frameworks, including data classification, retention, legal hold policies, external sharing, and audit requirements, and ensure effective implementation through tenant-level configuration and controls.
  • Lead engineering, configuration, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive), Zoom, and enterprise collaboration services, including tenant configuration, access policies, and content governance.
  • Define and govern SharePoint architecture, including site taxonomy, content lifecycle, design standards, and migration strategy, ensuring consistency and alignment with enterprise content services.
  • Establish and monitor platform SLIs/SLOs (availability, latency, reliability), leveraging telemetry and analytics to drive performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on platform performance, adoption, and business impact, translating technical metrics into clear business outcomes.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex, cross-platform issues, coordinating deep technical troubleshooting across engineering teams.
  • Lead integration of collaboration platforms with enterprise systems, including identity, content services, business applications, and workflow automation platforms.


AI-Enabled Productivity & Colleague Impact

  • Embed practical AI capabilities into collaboration platforms and workflows to reduce friction in information discovery, content creation, meeting follow-ups, and repetitive work, driving measurable productivity gains.
  • Partner with business and corporate functions (HR, PMO, Finance, executive support, IT) to design and deliver AI-enabled workflows aligned to how colleagues work, enabling document creation, communications, summarization, knowledge discovery, and first-draft deliverables.
  • Enable adoption of AI and collaboration tools by onboarding, coaching, and supporting colleagues, building everyday skills and effective usage habits.
  • Define and track productivity impact using analytics, including time saved, adoption, and user satisfaction, and continuously identify and scale high-value use cases.

Adoption, Experience, and Change

  • Drive enterprise adoption and behavioral change through engineered user experiences, training, communications, and leadership engagement.
  • Partner with change management to deliver policy-driven defaults, improved usability, and frictionless collaboration experiences aligned to business needs.
  • Use analytics to measure adoption, behavior, and productivity outcomes, continuously refining architecture, configurations, and user experience.


Strategy, Leadership, and Operations

  • Partner with business and engineering teams to modernize content services and collaboration workflows, aligning technology capabilities with business needs.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships, including licensing strategy, optimization, contract negotiations, renewals, and influence over vendor roadmaps.
  • Proactively evaluate emerging collaboration technologies and recommend innovations that enhance employee productivity and experience.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of architectures, configurations, governance models, standards, and training materials to support operations, knowledge transfer, and audit readiness.
  • Act as the enterprise thought leader and advocate for collaboration best practices and modern ways of working.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Inforamtion Technology, Computer Science or a related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of IT experience with a focus on collaboration platforms.
  • Proven success managing enterprise collaboration tools (Office 365, Teams, Zoom, SharePoint).
  • Strong knowledge of governance, compliance, and security standards for collaboration tools.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and driving adoption of new technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, vendor management, and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the utilities industry or other highly regulated environments.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud collaboration integrations and digital workplace transformation initiatives.
