Scope of Position

The Machinist supports the manufacturing team by assisting with CNC program adjustments, machine setup, and basic troubleshooting to ensure efficient production. This role focuses on learning core machining skills, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in a collaborative, safety-driven environment.

This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor. This role is onsite and is based in Menomonee Falls WI.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

CNC Program Adjustments

  • Assist in making minor modifications to CNC programs under guidance to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

Machine Setup & Operation

  • Support machine setups and operate CNC and manual equipment, ensuring smooth transitions between jobs.

Troubleshooting Assistance

  • Help identify and report machining or equipment issues, escalating complex problems to senior machinists.

Continuous Improvement Support

  • Participate in team efforts to improve processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance safety practices.

Skill Development & Team Collaboration

  • Engage in learning opportunities and share basic knowledge with peers to promote best practices.

Quality Checks

  • Perform part inspections using precision measuring tools to confirm compliance with quality standards

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Work with engineering and quality teams to address minor design or manufacturability concerns.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of setups and tooling changes while following all safety and regulatory guidelines.

Tooling & Equipment Care

  • Assist in monitoring machine performance and support preventive maintenance activities.

Production Workflow Support

  • Help organize tasks within the machining cell and contribute to meeting production goals.

Performance & Collaboration

  • Collaborate effectively with all team members across departments.
  • Helps support other department functions as needed.
  • Help create and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Understand and abide by all company safety policies.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor or Company management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years of machining experience working with lathes and mills, or equivalent education.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company's location in Menomonee Falls, WI. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
