Senior CNC Programmer


Direct Hire | Full-Time

Location: New Troy, Michigan

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM & Overtime as needed (approx. 45 hours/week)

Position Overview:

Reliance One, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Programmer to support machining operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for CNC programming, setup, tooling selection, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting quality, production, and training efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and design specifications
  • Work closely with Quality to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Select, build, and optimize tooling
  • Set up CNC machinery
  • Write new and modify existing G & M code; monitor production runs
  • Macro programming experience is a plus
  • Assist in training new operators and supporting experienced operators to maintain quality and productivity
  • Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas in collaboration with management and other Setup Engineers
  • Review tooling performance and recommend improvements to increase tool life and part quality
  • Analyze SPC data with Quality and Production Management to drive data-based improvements


Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of CNC Mill setup experience
  • Strong G & M code programming skills
  • Proven experience programming Fanuc controls
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Self-directed, motivated, and team-oriented
  • Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate with peers and leadership
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be open to working overtime
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to perform typical machine shop operations

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience with Mori Seiki CNC controls
  • Ability to program, run, and maintain Fanuc robots
  • Experience with Zoller tool pre-setter machines
  • Knowledge of TS 16949 or ISO 9000 standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Environmental Job Requirements:

  • Manufacturing environment with forklifts and heavy equipment
  • Uneven walking surfaces due to floor wear
  • Dusty and noisy shop conditions
  • Temperature fluctuations due to open doors and drafts
  • Slippery floors during wet conditions or due to oils/coolants
  • Handling parts with sharp edges
  • Exposure to gas fumes from forklifts
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials
  • Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions
