ANDRITZ is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer - CAD/CAM (Cimatron) to join our team in Muncy, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will help design and optimize critical refiner plate products used throughout the pulp and paper industry, directly impacting customer performance, equipment reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD/CAM professional who enjoys transforming engineering concepts into manufacturable solutions while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and product management teams.
What You'll Do
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
  • Design and modify refiner plate patterns using Cimatron CAD/CAM software
  • Convert existing 2D designs into detailed 3D models and manufacturing-ready files
  • Create engineering drawings, product specifications, and pattern database documentation
  • Develop sales support materials, including inch-cut drawings and product photo sheets
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, CNC Programming, Product Management, Sales, and Customers to ensure successful product design execution
  • Support pattern fabrication activities and maintain design priorities to meet production schedules
  • Review and verify engineering drawings for accuracy, quality, and compliance standards
  • Assist with troubleshooting, product improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain engineering documentation, records, and design databases
  • Participate in customer visits, training programs, and technical discussions as needed

  • Associate Degree or Technical/Trade School Degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering, or a related field
