Job description

Position: CNC PROGRAMMER
Location: Stevensville, Michigan
A CNC programmer is responsible for interpreting CAD models and blueprints, creating programs for CNC machines, setting up the machines efficiently, and adjusting to ensure high-quality parts are produced efficiently while maintaining equipment and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Skills required for a CNC programmer:
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and programming languages
  • Proficient in CAD and CAM software
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Mathematical skills for calculations related to machining
  • Attention to detail and quality control
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge and understanding of Tool steels, Pre heat and Post heat treat

We are seeking:
  • At least 3+ years of qualified CNC Programming experience with Tooling.
  • Great communication skills.
  • The ability to take direction and work well with others.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Seek solutions to keep machines running and maximize unattended time.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn graphite machining.
  • Willingness to learn multiple machine centers, such as: Mitsubishi , Milltronics, Creative Evolution, Toshiba, Promac (6-axis), Hermle (5-axis)
  • Types of controllers to the various machines: Centurion, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Heidenhain
  • Familiar with programming software such as: Cimatron (Primary), Work NC (still in house, no maintenance updates)
