Senior Claims Consultant

Why This Role Matters
As a Senior Claims Consultant, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex and high-stakes claims challenges. This role combines deep technical claims expertise with strategic consulting, helping clients achieve favorable claim outcomes while strengthening their long-term risk management strategies.
You'll partner closely with clients, carriers, legal counsel, and internal teams to manage sophisticated claim portfolios, resolve complex coverage issues, and deliver insights that support business decisions. In addition to leading claims advocacy efforts, you'll play an important role in mentoring team members and contributing to the continued growth and excellence of the Claims Department.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Lead strategy for catastrophic, litigated, and high-severity claims, driving resolution efforts and negotiating favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Analyze insurance policy language, carrier positions, and claim developments to develop effective advocacy and coverage strategies.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, adjusters, carriers, producers, and internal teams to resolve complex claim matters and remove barriers to resolution.
  • Conduct loss trend analysis, benchmarking, and root-cause assessments that help clients reduce future exposures and improve risk management outcomes.
  • Prepare and present claims reviews, performance metrics, and loss analyses to executive-level client stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Develop underwriting narratives, claim summaries, and strategic recommendations that support renewal negotiations and underwriting discussions.
  • Mentor Claims Consultants by providing technical guidance, training, and support for process improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee workload distribution and account assignments within the Claims Department to help ensure efficient service delivery and team success.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Insurance licensing or the ability to obtain required licensing within 60 days of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance policy language and claims processes.
  • Experience managing complex, high-severity, or litigated claims and developing claim resolution strategies.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including experience working with executive-level client contacts.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, carriers, attorneys, and internal teams.
Valuable Additions:
  • CPCU or CIC designation.
  • AIC or CRIS designation.
  • Experience working with an Agency Management System such as EPIC or AMS360.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience preparing loss analyses, benchmarking reports, underwriting narratives, or renewal strategy recommendations.
  • Prior experience mentoring team members or leading claims-related process improvement initiatives.

Pay Range: Posted below*
*Any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with applicable state pay transparency laws, considering relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work.
