Your seat at the table: Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Coatings

Coatings Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Serve as the technical authority for non-stick and functional coating systems (PTFE, ceramic), owning coating performance in production including adhesion, durability, yield, and defect reduction
  • Troubleshoot coating defects and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Define and optimize coating application methods, curing processes, and manufacturability
  • Partner with quality, operations, and product development to resolve coating-related issues and improve process performance

Applied Materials Science (Manufacturing Focus)
  • Apply materials science principles to solve coating and substrate-related challenges, ensuring robust and repeatable performance
  • Develop and optimize coating processes, surface preparation methods, and key process parameters
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, suppliers, and product development to ensure scalable and manufacturable solutions

Capital Execution & Equipment Ownership
  • Lead end-to-end capital equipment projects and coating line launches, including supplier engagement, FAT, installation, commissioning, process validation, and production ramp-up, ensuring safety, quality, and throughput targets are achieved
  • Own timelines, budgets, vendor performance, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful project execution
  • Develop equipment standards, maintenance strategies, and process controls to support long-term reliability

Process Development & Production Support
  • Establish standard work, process documentation, and training to support stable operations
  • Support production ramp-up and ongoing operations through hands-on troubleshooting and performance monitoring
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency

Requirements
We need this seat to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
  • Proven track record leading capital equipment projects from concept through startup
  • Hands-on experience with coating or finishing processes (PTFE, ceramic strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of process development, scale-up, and manufacturing systems
  • Strong documentation skills for process improvements, pilots, and measurable results
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and comfortable using technology to track, analyze, and report on initiatives
  • Familiarity with automation, controls, and industrial ovens/curing systems
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience
