Reporting to the Value Stream Leader, Power, the Senior Product Manager, Robotics is expected to lead End to End (E2E) Supply Chain for New Product Introductions (NPI's), Lifecycle Management (LCM) projects, portfolio management, and operations optimization. This role aims to implement modern, best practice manufacturing and supply chain processes and technologies on a global scale. The leader will leverage a deep understanding of the global Medical Technology industry, Capital Equipment segment and their channels to inform decision-making. This role requires strong cross-functional partnerships and a focus on end-to-end interfaces across the Enabling Technology business. A balance of strategic vision and hands-on involvement in global manufacturing and supply chain program and portfolio management is expected.

The individual will represent Supply Chain leading and participating in complex projects that require influencing and supporting cross-functional teams such as: R&D, Quality Engineering, Commercial, Finance, Sourcing, Plan, Make, External Operations and Environmental/Safety. They will focus on E2E supply chain product management using knowledge of project management, enterprise-wide supply chains, and knowledge of manufacturing operations. They will partner with functional partners on site, supplier, and technology selection with focus on quality, reliability, speed to market, and cost. They will drive the development and implementation of Launch Readiness, Capacity Management, and Operations Integration Plans to optimize launch performance and mitigate against manufacturing and/or supplier launch delays and long-term product supply disruption risks.

This person will play a vital role in guiding newly launched products throughout their lifecycle and orchestrate LCM projects across the Value Stream, emphasizing process enhancements, managing capital and expense, optimizing costs via cost improvement roadmaps, planning for business continuity, overseeing capacity management, and formulating innovative manufacturing strategies. They will foster collaboration among Supply Chain, Commercial, and R&D partners to create customer-centric Life Cycle strategies that align with product objectives. This person's primary goal will be to optimize project delivery and supply chain design through end-to-end thinking. This includes making informed, profitable trade-offs and taking overall ownership of the products.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Support the Value Stream Leader in crafting the Product Strategy Roadmap and identifying E2E supply chain projects to meet VS goals.
  • Support strategy and architectural definition of products during life cycle, including the strategic deployment and maintenance of appropriate technology roadmaps, technology transfer for LCM, BCP/Capacity, and Network Optimization.
  • Develop robust project business cases including strategic recommendations, financial analysis, and commercial value proposition while gaining alignment across key partners on project prioritization.
  • Partner with supply chain functions, commercial groups and R&D to provide strategic data and insights for LCM activities and deployment of the post launch product improvement roadmap.

Product Management & Execution

  • Develop a deep knowledge and expertise of the product and procedural solution.
  • Ensure the newest technology is evaluated and implemented in alignment with new product launches, business continuity and capacity planning.
  • Guide project teams through the development of strategies, options, and business cases as applicable to NPI and LCM.
  • Lead and assist in the development of GP improvement multi-year roadmap and continuous cost improvement in GP and COGS aligned to the Product Strategy Roadmap.
  • Lead creation and refresh of product roadmap in alignment with the portfolio targets.
  • Identify interdependencies and risks within the NPI and LCM project portfolios and implement mitigations for flawless project execution.
  • Collaborate with Source and R&D to develop and deploy critical supplier engagement and drive improvement plans in-line with VS goals.

Project Leadership

  • As required, partner with launch leads or self-develop project plans, and then drive delivery of the NPI or LCM project plan to achieve business results.
  • As required, develop, lead and maintain up-to-date Project Timelines inclusive of all critical milestones, key interdependencies, financial commitments and resource constraints, while applying appropriate project scheduling techniques.
  • Ensure seamless integration of newly stabilized products into the LCM process.
  • Collaborate with the Business Engagement team and partners on change management plans and deployment.

Value Stream Performance & Planning

  • Align metrics and KPI's, with focus on Reliability, Innovation, Profitability and Cashflow metrics.
  • Set Performance Targets for both Internal and (aligned with) External Manufacturing Ops to meet Platform, Franchise, & Enterprise goals.
  • This includes implementing supply risk management strategies for the supply chain.
  • Contribute to or lead the long-range and business planning cycles.
  • Lead supply continuity improvement and disruption recovery actions as needed.

General Duties

  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 10 years of related experience is required
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Distribution, Planning, Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Sales, or R&D in a Healthcare Industry.
  • Understanding of the linkages in Supply Chain from demand planning through delivery to customer (E2E).
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization and achieving results through leveraging internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability in applying project management methodologies and resource management practices.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizing skills.
  • Experience in data analytics
