Assist librarians by helping readers in the use of library catalogs, databases, and indexes to locate books and other materials; and by answering questions that require only brief consultation of standard reference.
Responsibilities
Assist librarians by helping readers in the use of library catalogs, databases, and indexes to locate books and other materials; and by answering questions that require only brief consultation of standard reference.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Compile records; sort and shelve books or other media; remove or repair damaged books or other media; register patrons; and check materials in and out of the circulation process.
  • Replace materials in shelving area (stacks) or files.
  • Includes bookmobile drivers who assist with providing services in mobile libraries.

Qualifications
Experience & Education:
  • Must have Completion of high school or equivalent and attended Technical Data Managers courses C-555-0007.
  • Experience assisting more senior positions or performing functional duties maintaining technical publication libraries.
  • Knowledge of the technical library procedures and policies. Knowledge of technical directives (TD's) Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Service Command (NATEC) and Technical Publication Deficiency Report Program (TPDR's).

Other Desired Experience:
  • Three (3) years' experience assisting more senior positions, and or performing functional duties.
  • Knowledge of CNAFINST 4790.2 (series).

Physical Requirements / Working Environment:
  • Ability to work under pressure and continuously meet deadlines.
  • Works in a normal office in a hanger environment.
