Job description

Indeck is seeking a highly skilled boiler structural and code design engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the structural design and analysis of industrial boilers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory codes. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles, and experience with ASME boiler design. This role can work out of our Erie, PA or Wheeling, IL office and is fully on-site.
 
Structural Design:
  • Perform detailed design of industrial boiler pressure vessels. 
  • Perform detailed structural calculations for the design of structural steel, piping, walkway, ducts, and stacks. 
  • Evaluate loading conditions, thermal expansion, and material stress under various operational environments. 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

 ASME Code:
  • Comply with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and other applicable codes to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensure all boiler components comply with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations. 
  • Prepare and submit design and code calculations.
 
Quality Assurance: 
  • Maintain company’s QA/QC program. 
  • Maintain companies Code Certifications.  
 Education:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 

Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience. 
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. 
  • Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA). 
  • Familiarity with welding and fabrication processes. 
  • Knowledge of CAD software.
