Job description

Schedule:

3rd: 11:00PM-7:30AM; S-Th (Shift Diff: $1.00)

Position is responsible for set up and operation of machinery to combine dry and/or liquid chemicals into customer products. Ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost and meets customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient policies and procedures.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing operations.
  • 3+ years of experience in plastics, colorants manufacturing, mixing, extrusion, or blending operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot safely and efficiently.
  • Experience with SAP transactions and production documentation.
  • Forklift operator license (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong reading comprehension and attention to detail.

  • Monitor production, troubleshoot processing and equipment issues, and escalate concerns to the lead or supervisor when needed.
  • Weigh and load raw materials to recipe specifications, or verify correct pre-blended materials are delivered and loaded.
  • Complete required SAP transactions and maintain accurate production documentation, logs, and reports.
  • Perform required machine cleaning and maintain strong housekeeping standards.
  • Support quality testing by collecting samples and following lab instructions to bring batches into specification.
  • Train and support teammates, including onboarding new team members and retraining on processes.
  • Follow ISO, EH&S, and site safety rules, including proper use of PPE.

Physical/Environ. Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Frequent lifting up to 55 lbs, and occasional handling of heavier materials (up to 250 lbs with appropriate equipment and procedures).
  • Work may include exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • PPE is required as directed (for example: safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, gloves, chemical suit, etc.).

Reporting Relationships

Reports to plant and production leadership, including the Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor or Lead, and Production Lead.
