Overview:
Star Furniture is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Senior Graphic Designer to serve as our in-house resource for executing high-impact marketing and advertising materials. This role is central to bringing our brand to life through digital print and other physical channels, with a strong emphasis on email and web design.
Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing and working closely with the Ecommerce Director, this position plays a key role in ensuring brand consistency, creative quality, and execution speed across all marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong digital design background and will be comfortable acting as the final authority on brand-appropriate creative.
Creative Execution & Production
• Design and produce marketing emails, and direct mailings
• Manage homepage updates and promotional page changes
• Create website enhancements and brand/category landing pages
• Develop in-store signage (print and digital displays)
• Design event collateral for launches, promotions, and special events
• Creative collateral for Trade Program initiatives
• Occasionally design outdoor advertising (e.g., billboards)
• Ensure consistency of brand standards across all marketing materials and platforms
Brand Stewardship & Creative Design
• Serve as the creative representative in internal meetings, ensuring all output aligns with brand standards
• Lead Creative Review meetings and "Wall Review" meetings with Buyers
• Participate in weekly agency meetings, collaborating with external partners
• Ensure brand consistency across all channels, including agency-led work (social media, TV production)
Collaboration & Vendor Management
• Partner with external agencies and freelancers to manage overflow and specialized projects
• Coordinate with third-party photographers to produce marketing assets, including imagery designed for AI manipulation
• Collaborate cross-functionality with Marketing, Ecommerce, and Buying teams
Digital & In-Store Experience
• Support creative for electronic in-store displays
• Maintain messaging for exterior store signage (e.g., Austin message board)
• Contribute to ongoing website improvements as tools and capabilities evolve
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 3+ years of graphic design experience, preferably in a retail marketing environment
• Strong portfolio demonstrating digital, email, and web design expertise (portfolio submission required)
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop
• Familiarity with digital design tools and platforms such as Adobe Firefly, Cloudinary and Faster
• Experience with creative review/proofing tools preferred (e.g., Ziflow or similar)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with emerging tools, including AI-assisted design platforms
Preferred Skills
• Experience with ecommerce platforms such as Magento
• Strong understanding of brand consistency, visual hierarchy, and UX principles
• Experience working in a high-volume marketing environment
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to balance speed and quality under tight deadlines
• Collaborative mindset with confidence to provide creative direction and feedback
• Experience managing or directing external creative partner
