Job description

As part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon's unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers' businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon's real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions.

Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.
AWS Skilling and Social Impact (SSI) offers AWS re/Start as a workforce development program that helps adults build skills including AI and cloud, utilizes AWS certifications to validate those skills, and connects graduates with career pathways. The program is free to the learner and delivered through a network of third-party collaborating organizations, led by the AWS re/Start Regional Program Manager. SSI is seeking a dynamic, organized, and experienced Program Manager who is passionate about skilling and workforce development programs for underserved communities

This individual will join the AWS re/Start team and be focused on building the program and expanding offerings in the Western part of the US and Canada. The successful candidate will be able to take ownership of the program in the region by sustaining an effective network of delivery organizations. They will earn the trust of the relevant internal stakeholders to support the success of the program across the region.

The candidate will establish solid working relationships with other Amazon teams in order to access local and regional funding mechanisms for workforce development, identify underserved communities who could benefit from AWS upskilling and reskilling offerings, monitor impact, and seek ways to improve effectiveness across the region. The candidate must have a collaborative work style, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Key job responsibilities
-Own and grow the AWS re/Start program across the Western US and Canada, sustaining an effective network of third-party delivery organizations that run the program at scale.
-Build and manage relationships with collaborating delivery organizations-onboarding, enabling, and supporting them to deliver high-quality skilling outcomes for underserved communities.
-Establish solid working relationships with internal AWS stakeholders and other Amazon teams to access local and regional funding mechanisms for workforce development.
-Partner with AWS public sector and commercial account teams, customers, and Partners to identify opportunities to introduce adult skilling programs as a solution to customer needs.
-Identify underserved communities that could benefit from AWS upskilling and reskilling offerings, and connect graduates with career pathways.
-Monitor program impact, track outcomes, and continuously seek ways to improve effectiveness across the region.
-Manage multiple concurrent workstreams with an entrepreneurial, collaborative approach, earning trust across internal and external stakeholders.
A day in the life
-Use local knowledge to deepen your stakeholder network externally, deepening funding channels across public bodies, charities, and corporate organizations
-Engage with AWS account teams in public sector and commercial organizations, as well as externally with AWS customers and Partners, to identify opportunities to introduce adult skilling programs as a solution to customer needs
-Serve as the key AWS point of contact for collaborating organizations, answering questions and directing them to the right resources and teams
-Work with local AWS public relations teams to showcase program opportunities and success
About the team
Our mission is to fuel, align, and amplify the good that AWS does in the world. Focusing on education, health, and climate resilience, with an emphasis on AI for Good, we aim to position AWS as the go-to cloud and AI provider for developers and organizations working to transform the world for the better.
