Senior Architectural Project Manager โ€“ Higher Education - Responsible for the execution of a variety of higher education project types, complexities, and sizes. Provides leadership and guidance to all project phases and their delivery. Leads an entire architectural project, from budget development to implementation, ensuring that project team meets quality, schedule, contractual and budget goals. Monitors and manages project staffing and their development. Responsible to maintain and develop excellent client relationships. Naturally possesses a commitment to design excellence, user experience, material health, social purpose, and sustainability.


Essential Functions:

ยท Responsible to lead project team through all phases of higher education design

ยท Actively manage schedules and programs, project communications and documentations, office administrative tasks and project team assignments

ยท Manage project budget and monitors billing efficiency rates; works at maximizing teamโ€™s quality and efficiency in assigned tasks

ยท Interface with clients, contractor, review agencies, engineering, and specialty consultants

ยท Lead the strategic planning/implementation of projects

ยท Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables

ยท Develop full scale project plans including project calendars, budgets, and work plans

ยท Maximize and support design objectives in all phases of the project

ยท Provide performance evaluations for their team and track their development

ยท Track project deliverables using appropriate tools to ensure project timelines and deadlines

ยท Provide direction, support, and mentorship to project team

ยท Responsible for quality assurance for all phases of project deliverables

ยท Provide ongoing updates and communicate project progress to all stakeholders

ยท Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions

ยท Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

ยท Lead project team and client meetings

ยท Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects

ยท Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the satisfaction of the client

ยท Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts

Requirements:

Competencies:

ยท Required: Knowledge of the Higher Education design process and and typical programs

ยท Required Experience: California Community College project experience.

ยท Preferred Experience with the following clients โ€“ Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU)

ยท Required Experience: Division of the State Architect approvals.

ยท Exceptional and intuitive client service along with assurance of project profitability

ยท Knowledge of architectural design concepts, all project phases, practices, and procedures

ยท Proven track record managing and leading projects from Schematic Design through Construction Administration

ยท Experience with programing and campus planning preferred

ยท Knowledge of state and local building codes

ยท Effective verbal and written communication skills

ยท Ability to multi-task and accurately perform a variety of complicated tasks in a fast-paced environment

ยท Proficiency in Revit preferred

ยท Proficiency in Bluebeam required

Certification Requirements

ยท Architectural License Required

ยท LEED Accreditation preferred
