ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Director, Commercial Analytics is a strategic leadership role within Columbia's North America organization, reporting to the SVP & General Manager, North America. This leader will establish and lead a unified commercial analytics capability that helps transform data into actionable business insights, enabling faster and better decisions across Wholesale, DTC, Marketing, Merchandising, and Consumer Insights.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, analytics, and organizational transformation. You will partner closely with senior leaders to identify opportunities, uncover risks, and drive growth by bringing together fragmented data sources, establishing a common business reporting framework, and creating a consistent operating rhythm for commercial decision making.

Success in this role requires a rare combination of commercial acumen, analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership influence. You will help Columbia move beyond reporting what happened to understanding why it happened, what matters most, and what actions should be taken next.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Build and lead Columbia's North America Commercial Analytics function, establishing a unified vision across Wholesale, DTC, Marketing, Consumer Insights, and other business functions.
  • Create and implement a consistent commercial reporting framework, ensuring leaders across the organization are working from shared metrics, insights, and business performance indicators.
  • Establish the reporting cadence, business reviews, and operating rhythms that enable leaders to assess performance, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions.
  • Turn complex and fragmented data into clear business insights, helping leaders understand the drivers of growth, profitability, customer engagement, and operational performance.
  • Lead strategic and ad hoc analytics initiatives that evaluate key business opportunities, customer trends, channel performance, market dynamics, sell-through performance, and long-term growth strategies, helping leaders capitalize on in-season demand and identify future growth opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Digital Technology teams to ensure data, reporting, visualization tools, and analytics capabilities align with business priorities and commercial needs.
  • Consolidate insights from multiple sources, including commercial performance data, consumer research, market intelligence, and customer behavior analytics, to create a holistic view of the North America business.
  • Identify emerging business opportunities and proactively bring recommendations to leadership that improve revenue growth, consumer engagement, channel performance, and profitability.
  • Champion the use of AI-enabled analytics and decision-support capabilities, helping the organization identify emerging opportunities, risks, and actionable insights faster while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of commercial decision making.
  • Build and develop a high-performing analytics organization while unifying existing teams and capabilities into a cohesive commercial analytics function.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, helping shape business decisions through fact-based analysis, insight generation, and strategic recommendations.

YOU ARE

  • A commercially minded analytics leader who understands how data drives business performance.
  • A strategic thinker who can connect customer, channel, market, and financial insights into a clear business narrative.
  • Skilled at simplifying complexity and helping leaders focus on what matters most.
  • A trusted partner who influences decisions through credibility, insight, and collaboration.
  • An effective leader who can build alignment across multiple teams, functions, and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where transformation, change management, and continuous improvement are part of the journey.

YOU HAVE

  • 15+ years of experience in commercial analytics, business analytics, revenue analytics, consumer insights, strategy, consulting, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading analytics teams within a complex retail, consumer products, omnichannel, or customer-focused business environment.
  • Demonstrated success translating data into actionable business decisions that drove measurable growth, profitability, customer engagement, or operational improvements.
  • Experience building or transforming analytics capabilities, operating models, reporting frameworks, or insight-driven organizations.
  • Strong understanding of commercial performance metrics across sales, wholesale, direct-to-consumer, ecommerce, marketing, customer, and merchandising functions.
  • Executive presence and a proven ability to influence senior leaders through compelling storytelling and fact-based recommendations.
  • Experience leveraging modern analytics and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar technologies to support business decision making.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
