Job description

ID & Design International (IDDI) is an award-winning interior design and branding firm specializing in commercial mixed-use, retail, hospitality, entertainment, multi-family, and cruise ship projects. With extensive national and international experience, IDDI partners with leading developers, owners, retailers, and hospitality brands to create distinctive environments that combine innovative design with strategic business objectives.

Our team manages projects from initial concept through design development, construction documentation, construction administration, and final installation.

ROLE:

IDDI is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Commercial Interior Design to manage multiple commercial interior design projects from concept through completion.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Pompano Beach, Florida. The ideal candidate must have direct experience managing commercial interior design projects and a strong understanding of the interior design and construction documentation process.

The Project Manager will serve as a key point of coordination between clients, internal design teams, architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors. This individual will be responsible for maintaining project schedules, budgets, deliverables, documentation, and communication while ensuring the design intent and quality standards are maintained throughout each phase of the project.

This position requires proficiency in AutoCAD and experience in Revit is a plus. The ability to understand, review, coordinate, and provide direction regarding architectural and interior design drawings and construction documents is a necessity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multiple commercial interior design projects simultaneously from programming and concept design through construction and installation.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, work plans, deliverables, and project documentation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Coordinate the work of interior designers, architects, MEP consultants, lighting consultants, contractors, and other project professionals.
  • Review and coordinate AutoCAD and Revit drawings, construction documents, plans, elevations, details, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, and schedules.
  • Ensure drawing packages are coordinated, accurate, complete, and consistent with the approved design intent.
  • Manage project milestones and ensure design and documentation deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Lead and participate in client meetings, design coordination meetings, and construction meetings.
  • Coordinate finish selections, specifications, FF&E, fixtures, and other interior design elements with the project team.
  • Oversee construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, field conditions, punch lists, and design-related construction issues.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and verify that work is being completed in accordance with the design documents.
  • Identify project risks, coordination issues, and scheduling conflicts and proactively work with the project team to resolve them.
  • Maintain clear project records, meeting notes, schedules, budgets, and client communications.
  • Mentor and provide direction to designers and junior team members as needed.
  • Maintain IDDI's standards for design quality, documentation, client service, and project delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial interior design or architectural interiors projects preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects in sectors such as multi-family, hospitality, retail, mixed-use, entertainment, restaurant, or other commercial interiors.
  • Strong understanding of the complete interior design process, including concept design, design development, construction documentation, specifications, construction administration, and installation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/CAD and Revit required.
  • Ability to read, review, coordinate, and provide direction regarding architectural and interior construction documents.
  • Experience coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of interior finishes, materials, specifications, FF&E, and construction detailing.
  • Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Familiarity with building codes, ADA requirements, and commercial interior construction standards.
  • Strong client-facing communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative design environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management/document management platforms; Procore experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related design discipline preferred.

The successful candidate is an experienced commercial interiors Project Manager, not simply a general construction Project Manager. They understand how an interior design studio operates, can manage designers and consultants through the documentation process, are comfortable working in AutoCAD and Revit, and can successfully guide multiple projects from initial design through construction and final installation.
