Job Description

The Department:

Invesco's Internal Consulting team acts as a trusted advisor and transformation partner to senior leadership and business units. The team combines structured problem-solving with deep institutional knowledge to deliver high-impact change initiatives that align with the firm's strategic priorities. Our work spans operating model design and implementation, operational efficiency, regulatory readiness, digital transformation, and large scale enterprise transformations.

The Role:

As a Senior Director in Internal Consulting, you will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the function, leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, and developing a high-performing consulting team. You will serve as a senior advisor to Invesco's executive leadership, influence firm-wide priorities, and drive the growth and maturity of the Internal Consulting practice.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Strategic Leadership

    • Shape and execute the strategic roadmap for Internal Consulting in alignment with firm-wide priorities.

    • Serve as a senior advisor to business and technology executives (members of the executive and senior leadership teams), influencing enterprise-level decisions.

    • Represent Internal Consulting in firm-wide governance and planning forums.

  • Program & Portfolio Delivery

    • Lead and oversee a portfolio of enterprise-wide transformation programs with global scope and complexity.

    • Ensure delivery excellence across multiple programs, driving measurable business outcomes.

    • Provide senior oversight and coaching to Directors and engagement leads.

  • Talent & Team Development

    • Build and lead a high-performing, diverse team of consulting professionals across regions.

    • Act as a mentor and coach, fostering a culture of performance, inclusion, and continuous development.

    • Identify and develop future leaders within the Internal Consulting team.

  • Practice Growth & Capability Building

    • Lead the evolution of Internal Consulting's operating model, methodologies, and service offerings.

    • Champion innovation, repeatable ways of working, and knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build and maintain a trusted network of senior client relationships across the firm.

    • Collaborate with business sponsors to shape initiative strategy, business cases, and execution plans.

    • Actively engage with internal partners to align people, , processes, and technology for transformation success.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Minimum of 10 years' combined experience in the following areas:

  • Manager in a major consulting firm leading large scale financial services engagements (preferably in the area of asset management and/or technology)

  • Leading Change Management initiatives

  • Successfully managing multiple large scale technology projects in a corporate setting

  • Managing a diverse team, preferably global management experience

  • Experience and passion for coaching and mentoring

  • Experience aligning technology resources with business strategies

  • Experience managing different methodologies e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Lean

  • Asset management industry experience preferred

  • A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, technology or similar field required, master's degree preferred; will consider equivalent work experience

  • Reputation as strong leader, mentor, coach

  • Proven ability to drive execution of large scale, complex programs

  • Ability to effectively translate technology language for business leaders
