Senior Manager, Project Controls Planning (Life Science), Project & Development Services

Job Description Summary

Provides portfolio-level or major-program leadership for planning and scheduling services supporting large-scale life sciences capital investments. Responsible for establishing scheduling strategies, governance frameworks, delivery standards, and reporting methodologies across multiple projects or programs. Serves as a senior advisor to client leadership, guiding schedule-related decision making, program performance evaluation, and risk mitigation while driving consistency and excellence across scheduling teams and project controls delivery.

Job Description

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide portfolio- and program-level oversight of planning and scheduling services across multiple life sciences capital projects and mega-programs.
  • Establish scheduling governance frameworks, standards, reporting structures, and delivery strategies that support effective program execution and decision-making.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to client executives and project leadership on schedule performance, forecasting, schedule risk, mitigation strategies, and recovery planning.
  • Oversee development and implementation of integrated master schedules spanning engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.
  • Guide complex schedule analyses, including trend analysis, scenario modeling, schedule risk assessments, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Drive consistency of scheduling practices, methodologies, and reporting across projects, teams, and client programs.
  • Mentor, develop, and oversee Managers and senior scheduling professionals while influencing staffing, resourcing, and organizational development strategies.
  • Partner with client stakeholders, project leadership, and delivery teams to identify program risks, constraints, and opportunities impacting overall delivery objectives.

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field. Master's degree preferred. Certification preferred.
  • Thirteen or more years of progressive planning and scheduling experience, including at least two years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading planning and scheduling functions for large, complex capital programs, preferably within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting portfolios or programs with individual project values in excess of $1 billion preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of scheduling techniques, critical path methodology, schedule forecasting, schedule risk analysis, and program-level performance management.
  • Proven ability to establish scheduling governance frameworks and influence project delivery strategies across large organizations and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong executive-level consulting, client relationship management, and strategic advisory capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and related scheduling and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, qualification, performance qualification (PQ), startup, operational readiness, and facility turnover planning within regulated life sciences environments is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
