POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Activities Coordinator position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.  The Senior Activities Coordinator position is responsible for the oversight and delivery of active older adult programs for the YMCA of Collier County.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating AOA (Active Older Adults) programs 

  • Achieving budget, reach, and volunteer engagement goals 

  • Managing and supporting AOA volunteers

  • Submitting required reports and completing assignments professionally and on time 

  • Creating an infrastructure for program delivery

  • Creating and maintaining a monthly calendar of events

  • Establishing, implementing, and maintaining community partnerships 

  • Ensuring all classes are staffed and subbed, when necessary

  • Ensuring all sites have the necessary supplies and equipment, when applicable 

  • Facilitating the DAXKO online registration procedures, if applicable (DAXKO is the YMCA's course management software) 

  • Planning special events: Wellness Day, Demo Days, outings, celebrations, etc. 

  • Participating in community partner sites events 

  • Hiring and supervising AOA Instructors

  • Attending staff meetings 

  • Exceeding the service standards of the YMCA of Collier County for the Healthy Living Department:-

    1. Meet and greet every member

    2. Learn and use members' names

    3. Ask participants whether they are meeting goals and respond with appropriate referrals

    4. Provide exemplary service to all participants equally 

  • Upholding professional standards of conduct at all times:

    1. Behave professionally with staff and participants at all times

    2. Adhere to the program dress code

    3. Report for work as assigned

    4. Be on time and attentive

    5. Comply with all policies and procedures of the YMCA of Collier County

  • Maintaining all required certifications

  • Adhering to all risk management and safety protocols

    • This position will work at both YMCA of Collier County locations: North Campus (Naples) and South Campus (Marco Island)


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • College degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or related field

    • Current CPR/FA/AED certifications

    • 2-3 years' experience in health education, wellness, or adult education

    • Basic computer knowledge

    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    • Strong communication skills

    • Teaching, training, and public speaking experience preferred

    • Bilingual candidate preferred

    • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
