Senior Accountant – Manufacturing Finance & Cost Accounting

About the Opportunity

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to play a key role in cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and operational finance. This highly visible position partners closely with Operations, Production, and Leadership teams to improve cost visibility, drive profitability, and support strategic decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working directly with manufacturing operations, analyzing production costs, identifying process improvements, and contributing to the overall financial success of the business.

What You'll Do

  • Lead cost accounting activities including standard costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing variance analysis, and overhead allocations.
  • Analyze labor, material, scrap, machine utilization, and production costs to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvement.
  • Support month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and P&L analysis.
  • Manage inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reserves, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Production, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to improve manufacturing performance and financial visibility.
  • Develop reports, KPIs, and profitability analyses that support informed business decisions.
  • Assist with ERP system enhancements, audit support, internal controls, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance.
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOM structures, inventory controls, variance analysis, and manufacturing accounting principles.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and audit processes.
  • ERP/MRP system experience required.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
