Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing moderately complex work in accounting systems and related aspects of financial management including financial reporting, budget analysis, grant reporting, debt compliance/reconciliation, internal audit, and cash management; requiring comprehensive knowledge of the Seminole Tribe of Florida Inc.'s financial functions, government fund accounting, fixed assets, auditing, and automated accounting systems. The incumbent is required to operate with minimal supervision and must be able to independently develop data necessary for sound managerial decision making and financial reporting. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience working as staff accountant is required. Prior experience in governmental accounting/auditing settings and fixed asset accounting is required. Knowledge of Government Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standard Board 34 (GASB 34) reporting requirements is required. Certification as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. Must demonstrate superior analytical skills and problem solving ability. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
