Group/Division
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) Division provides industry leading metrology solutions for worldwide semiconductor IC manufacturers. The FaST Division portfolio of metrology products includes hardware and software solutions for optical film thickness, optical critical dimension (CD), composition, and resistivity measurement systems. These products are essential for the IC manufacturers as they provide critical metrology capabilities for the development and implementation of their advanced IC processes. The FaST division is committed to support our customers to achieve performance entitlement of our solution and we effectively partner with our customers from their early research and development phase to the high volume in-line manufacturing implementation specific for their process needs. The division consists of a global team located in US, Israel, China, and India.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
Role Overview
The Product Development Engineer will support Intel development and manufacturing programs by driving product readiness, performance, and yield across development and ramp phases. This role partners closely with Intel fab engineering, KLA internal R&D, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment of KLA technologies in advanced semiconductor environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support product development activities from early customer engagement through high-volume manufacturing
  • Analyze manufacturing, process, and tool performance data to identify yield, reliability, and performance trends
  • Lead root-cause analysis and structured problem solving for product and process issues
  • Collaborate with Intel fab engineers, process integration, and yield teams to drive improvements
  • Define, document, and maintain Best Known Methods (BKMs), process flows, and product learning
  • Support tool qualification, characterization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Translate customer feedback into actionable inputs for KLA R&D and product teams
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to internal stakeholders and customer partners

Qualifications
  • MS, or PhD in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Physics, or related field)
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process development, yield engineering, or product development
  • Outstanding skills in optical systems, opt-mechanics, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a customer-facing, cross-functional environment
  • Experience working with or supporting Intel fabs is strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel local and international up to 15%

Preferred Experience
  • Statistical data analysis, DOE, yield analysis
  • Familiarity with fab operations and product ramp environments
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor tools or development programs

Base Pay Range: $80,800.00 - $137,400.00 Annually
