Job description

Deer Creek Flange Pipe Co. is seeking a Blaster/Painter. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 7:00a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The starting pay varies based on experience with a minimum starting rate of $20-$22/hour based on expierence. This role is eligible for benefits including medical insurance (cost of premiums covered 100% by the company), dental insurance, vision insurance, 401 (k), and paid time off.

The Blaster/Painter is responsible for preparing pipe surfaces for coating and applying protective and decorative finishes. This role involves cleaning and preparing pipe surfaces using abrasive blasting techniques and applying coatings using various painting methods to ensure durability and compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities


  • Surface Preparation: Operate abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare pipe surfaces by removing rust, scale, old coatings, and other contaminants.
  • Coating Application: Apply primers, paints, and other coatings to pipe surfaces using spray guns, brushes, or rollers, ensuring an even and consistent finish.
  • Inspection: Inspect pipes before and after coating to ensure surface cleanliness and finish quality. Make necessary adjustments to achieve desired results.
  • Maintenance: Maintain and clean blasting and painting equipment to ensure proper operation and longevity.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing blasting and painting tasks.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of materials used, job progress, and any issues encountered during the process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors and quality control personnel, to ensure projects are completed on time and meet company standards.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in abrasive blasting and industrial painting is preferred. Familiarity with pipe coating procedures and materials is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in the use of blasting and painting equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications.
  • Conducts oneself in a professional manner with responsibility, integrity, accountability and excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative; always finds a way to be productive, takes pride in their work
  • Works well as a team member; places the success of the team above self interest
