Position Type: Student Support Services/SEL Liaison Date Posted: 5/12/2026 Location: Carlton Viveiros Elementary School The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System: Position: SEL Liaison POSITION SUMMARY: Fall River Public Schools is seeking SEL Liaison to work alongside the School Adjustment Counselors as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support students. The SEL Liaison uses a variety of approaches to teach students social and emotional skills. They work with students to learn how to identify emotions and to apply knowledge, attitudes, and skills to understand and manage emotions. Qualifications
  • Must have experience and demonstrated ability to support students with emotional and behavioral challenges
  • Must be able to coordinate with and work as a member of a team that includes special and general educators, other building staff, related service personnel, clinicians and families
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field
  • Bilingual preferred
The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee. Performance Responsibilities
  • Proactively supports student SEL needs via observations, staff collaboration, coordination of success planning
  • Supports the Implementation of behavior management/Social Emotional plans as written
  • Collects and analyzes student data to inform plan adjustment
  • Assists with crisis management plans, including physical management, and any other supportive plans per behavior management protocols when required
  • Establishes emotionally supportive rapport with students
  • Provides support to students in both general and special education classes as needed and determined by SEL team.
  • Triage behaviors to determine level of support needed
  • Facilitates student support groups
  • Works closely with the SAC', teachers and administration to support student SEL needs
  • Collect and analyze student data and document student's progress to provide concrete feedback to student and family regarding SEL needs
  • Observe students in an academic and unstructured settings to better understand the student's SEL needs
  • Participates in weekly or bi-weekly clinical team meetings or SEL meetings to discuss student success with the school based SEL team.
  • Provide coaching, goal setting, social skill instruction, restorative conferencing, & problem solving
  • Complete other duties as needed to support SEL
Reports to: Building Principal Terms of Employment: In accordance with the Fall River Educators' Association Unit B contract. Salary ranges from $52,093-$70,109, Step 1-Step 12, Bachelor's - Master's Degree. The Fall River Public School District is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
