Job description

OPS Security Group is seeking professional and customer-service-focused Enhanced Security Officers for a people-facing security role at the Hope Center in New Castle, DE. This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle high-interaction environments while maintaining safety and security standards.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor property and report suspicious activity
  • Perform ingress/egress and access control procedures
  • Conduct walking patrols throughout the property
  • Monitor CCTV and surveillance systems
  • Respond to emergencies, incidents, and alarms
  • Complete daily activity logs and incident reports
  • Assist with resident intake and screening processes
  • Support case managers during high-traffic periods
  • Enforce curfew and facility policies
  • De-escalate conflicts and maintain a professional presence
  • Build positive rapport with residents, staff, and visitors
  • Perform additional security duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Valid Delaware Red Card required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
  • Previous security, military, law enforcement, concierge, or service industry experience preferred
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
  • Basic computer knowledge (email, reports, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and OPS training requirements
Preferred Experience

Candidates should meet at least one of the following:

  • 4 years of armed security experience
  • 3 years of military experience
  • State or federally certified law enforcement academy training
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to wear a security uniform
  • Ability to pass Physical Agility Test (PAT):
    • 100-meter run in 66 seconds or less
    • 30 push-ups
    • 26 sit-ups
Additional Information
  • CPR/AED/First Aid/BLS training preferred or ability to obtain
  • Must maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Candidates cannot have previously worked at the Hope Center
