Low Voltage Project Manager

Summary:
As a Low Voltage Project Manager in the Fire Protection Industry, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and executing of low voltage systems projects, including fire alarm, communication, and security systems. This role involves coordinating with clients, managing project teams, and working with other project coordinators and operations managers as needed. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and that all projects meet industry standards, regulations, and client expectations.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Coordination
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Thoroughly review project specifications, bid set drawings, all addendums and any project related information.
  • Perform site visit to verify field conditions and generate a rough material list.
  • Create the material order based on approved drawings.
  • Manage installation, equipment, tools, and materials.

2. Communication:
  • Reach out to clients and/or general contractors to introduce yourself as Project Manager.
  • Follow-up regularly with engineer until drawings are complete, and review for accuracy.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and any changes or challenges.
  • Facilitate weekly safety tailgate meetings.
  • Address client concerns and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide direction and support to team members to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Perform system training for on-site management personnel.

3. Scheduling:
  • Schedule inspections: rough, final, and acceptance testing.
  • Create job schedule for installation, testing, and commissioning; as required by contract.

4. Reporting and Analysis:
  • Generate and maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, completion percentages, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Prepare and submit project reports, including financials, progress metrics, and project outcomes.

5. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and national fire safety codes on regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to guarantee that installations meet company standards and client expectations.
  • Address and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that rise during the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Monitor and manage project risks, ensuring timely resolution of any issues that may impact project success.

6. Miscellaneous Tasks:
  • Travel to project sites as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience managing low voltage systems projects, with at least 2 years in a project management role preferred.
  • F-Card, NICET, OSHA-30, Lift, CPR and Siemens (or other) Programming Certifications (required).
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and engineering software applications.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
