Security Project Manager

TEKsystems is searching for an experienced Security Project Manager to oversee commercial security and low-voltage projects throughout the Middle Tennessee market. This role is ideal for a project management professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating with customers and field teams, and has strong experience in electronic security systems.

The Security Project Manager will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from project award through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Position Overview

As a Security Project Manager, you will lead multiple commercial security projects while serving as the primary point of contact for customers, internal stakeholders, field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, organizational skills, and leadership experience to drive project success and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple commercial security projects simultaneously from contract award through project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and procurement timelines.
  • Coordinate technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work to verify project requirements.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and customer status updates.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including labor utilization, forecasting, budgets, and change orders.
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, applicable industry codes, and quality standards.
  • Partner with sales, operations, and field leadership teams to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain project documentation, reporting, closeout packages, and customer handoff deliverables.
  • Foster strong customer relationships through effective communication and professional project management.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience within the commercial security, access control, CCTV, or low-voltage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial security systems, including:
    • Access Control
    • CCTV / Video Surveillance
    • Intrusion Detection Systems
    • Integrated Security Platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple priorities and project teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing large-scale commercial construction or technology integration projects.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Experience working directly with general contractors, owners, and end users.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling and financial management best practices.
  • Industry certifications (like NICET and BICSI) related to project management, security technologies, or low-voltage systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
