Air Force Civilian Service is currently seeking one full-time Industrial Security Specialists (SAP) to work in the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Sentinel Systems Division at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
This position (986379) is an NH-0080-03 which has a typical 2026 salary range of $89,508 - $138,370.
Multiple vacancies may be filled with this announcement.
The primary purpose of these positions is to provide security support to the Sentinel program office. This position will primarily serve as Government Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer (GSSO) and may encompass all security disciplines to include personnel, industrial, information, and operations security in the special access program, and sensitive compartmented information environments. As a part of the Sentinel security team, the selectee will be the frontline of protection for one of the largest weapon system acquisitions in history and will ensure the successful fielding of the next generation Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
Candidates must have at least 3 years of actual Security Program Management experience either in government or industry in the following disciplines:
• SAP Security
• Personnel Security (PERSEC)
• Information Security (INFOSEC)
• Physical Security (PHYSEC)
• Industrial Security (INDUSEC)
DUTIES:
• Plans, organizes, and directs collateral, special access program, and/or sensitive compartmented information security activities for organization's assigned system programs.
• Examines security initiatives, protection measures, and processes for application across platform, system, and organizational lines.
• Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and Acquisition Security objectives.
• Develops and prioritizes organizational security and information protection performance goals and mission objectives.
• Develops operating procedures and plans, acquisition security concept, and implementation plans.
• Sets overall priorities and objectives for security personnel; assesses progress toward objectives; identifies problems and takes appropriate corrective action.
• Evaluates new concepts and ideas of technical and management importance.
• Provides organizational senior leadership with security management solutions for short- and long-term organization business, financial, manpower, and operational planning, and manages cost, schedule and performance of security activities.
SKILLS:
• Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience with multiple security disciplines and demonstrate expertise.
• Knowledge of government contractual practices and requirements for development and purchase of Air Force acquisition programs and/or supporting programs/projects is required; familiarity with Defense Industrial Base security organization, operations, and management practices is a plus.
• Knowledge in program protection, physical, system, information, industrial, personnel, operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas is highly desired.
• Extensive knowledge of organization's missions, functions, and structure to ensure effective implementation of oversight of special programs security concepts, principles, and practices is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for assigned area is highly desired.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing is highly valued.
• Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
• U.S. CITIZENSHIP
• Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
• The employee must obtain and maintain the required SPeD certifications IAW AFI 36-2645:
Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC)
• In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
