Join BAE Systems' Air & Space Force Solutions team and contribute to one of the most critical national security programs - the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This groundbreaking "mega-project" will replace the aging Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM - the first full system replacement in over 50 years. Considered one of the Department of Defense's most complex and important acquisitions, Sentinel modernizes the ground-based leg of the nation's nuclear triad. Under the U.S. Air Force's Integration Support Contract (ISC), BAE Systems delivers advisory and assistance services in engineering, logistics, management, scientific analysis, and specialized expertise to augment and optimize management of the Sentinel ICBM Prime Contractor. This high-impact work with no dull moments directly contributes to a cornerstone of national defense. BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Environmental Program Manager to join our diverse and passionate team. This position will primarily support the Sentinel ICBM Program, a multi-billion dollar initiative involving hundreds of new construction and renovation projects that includes planning, design, analysis, construction, and maintenance. The Role
As an Environmental Program Manager, you will be based at Hill AFB, Utah, with regular collaboration with government customers and stakeholders on-site and remote support to customers and stakeholders at other locations. The Environmental Program Manager will provide expert guidance and support to ensure environmental compliance across this large-scale modernization effort. Key duties include one or more of the following functions: * Develop, write, implement, and oversee environmental programs in support of the customer. * Ensure all outcoming correspondence and documents comply with DoD/DAF standards (AFH 33-337). * Maintain version control, document management, and quality control workflows. * Prepare agendas, meeting minuets, decision logs, and track critical tasks. * Leveraging expertise in key regulations, including: * Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA) material oversight and management at multiple military installations. Endangered Species Act (ESA) Section 7, and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 106 compliance management. * Supporting National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analyses (Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), Categorical Exclusions (CATEX), Classified Annexes that support NEPA documentation) and manage permitting and compliance tracking workflows via the ArcGIS Online Hub platform. * Identifying, developing, and mitigating risks associated with environmental programs. * Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental compliance and permitting into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). * Supporting Programmatic Environment Safety & Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) plans, including reviewing Hazardous Material Management Plans and ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-882E. * Interfacing with multiple State Departments of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to support compliant environmental strategies. * Utilizing and developing an Environmental Management System * Providing environmental compliance oversight of Military Construction (MILCON) projects * Providing cross-sector program management support, including but not limited to growing BAE Systems Inc environmental and construction-related disciplines that support existing and future contracts, involving resourcing and execution oversight. Required Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor's degree * Minimum 8 yrs. experience in the environmental / construction industries * Experience reviewing lengthy, technical documents and providing concise summaries and clear recommendations for action or decision. * Ability to direct teams in drafting, approval and implementation of environmental plans * Experience with managing and growing cross-discipline teams and growing teams * Demonstrated Microsoft 365 proficiency (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Must be able to obtain Secret (or higher) security clearance Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or other associated environmental discipline * Greater than 10 years of relevant professional experience * Air Force specific project experience with the Sentinel Program * Demonstrated experience in GIS (ArcGis Pro/Online or equivalent) * Demonstrated NEPA experience * Proven experience supporting large scale projects in an environmental compliance role (e.g. inspector or similar) * Knowledge of current U.S. environmental laws and regulations, DoD and Air Force instructions, policies, directives, and applicable agreements pertinent to complex projects * Understanding of the linear facility development (transmission line/pipeline project experience) * Demonstrated experience guiding SWOT analyses and utilizing root cause analysis and corrective action tools/techniques * Strong communication skills (oral and written) for engaging with senior officials across federal, local government, industry, and activities * Familiarity with stakeholder engagement, public involvement, meeting logistics, and comment adjudication * Familiarity with applicable health, safety, and construction standards/regulations * Knowledge of construction and service contracting procedures for environmental contracts * Working knowledge of State Departments of Environmental Quality (DEQ) * Active Secret clearance, Ability to obtain Top Secret * Project Management Professional (PMP) certification * Familiarity with Agile Mindset and continuous process improvement Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120874 - $205486 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
