Job description

Security Manager

The Security Manager will serve as liaison between Marksman Security and client contracted Security team. This position directly reports to the Division Manager and is responsible for overall management of property safety and security program including security officer staffing and performance. Motivates and develops staff by providing leadership and necessary tools needed to perform their job duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for o security matters and ensure strong liaison with law enforcement
  • Respond to client concerns, communicate instructions to officers, follow up on questions or special requests
  • Ensure that information gets relayed to customers in a timely manner. Respond to employee questions and requests
  • Coordinate with Scheduling team on open post coverage
  • Collaborates and coordinates Division Manager and Property Management team on ways to continually improve communication and departmental performance.
  • Ensure professional report writing from the Security team of all incidents and conditions observed on site thereby meeting both client and Priebe Security expectations
  • Responsible for scan points maintenance and regular review of discrepancy reports to ensure 100% checkpoint and tour completion for each post
  • Working with the Training Manager, ensure procedure manuals/post orders for site and all positions are up to date, ensure emergency contacts and procedure accuracy
  • Ensure the entire team is up to date on all processes and procedures. Communicate any procedural changes to employees through pass-downs and training and/or retraining
  • Live by the adage “inspect what you expect”
  • Provide direct supervision to security officers including performance management, coaching and mentoring utilizing SMART goals and progressive discipline working in collaboration with Division Manager.
  • Recognition is key for driving desired performance metrics, so ensure that positive behavior and results are acknowledged and rewarded on a consistent and ongoing basis
  • Collaborate with Staffing Manager and Site Security Manager for candidate selection. Conduct interviews for open positions with emphasis on selection of professional candidates with bias on strong customer service skills
  • Responsible for training up the team to ensure completion of all training including initial site-specific job training, ongoing refresher training and required certification compliance. Execution of monthly training topics and cross-training is an essential part of managerial job responsibilities
  • Ensure any employee injuries are reported promptly, using identified documentation within TrackTik and ensure appropriate care is received for injured employee if necessary
  • Maintain card access controls and key inventories to ensure compliance at all times
  • Ensure all Security equipment, to include Truck, Golf Cart and site phones are inspected at the beginning of each shift and any damage reported using appropriate protocol.
  • Measure and create reporting for Property Management and Priebe Security using KPI’s to communicate success or areas for improvement for implementation at the site
  • Ensure uniform presentation of the team is always within guidelines and demonstrates professionalism
  • Conduct regular team meetings/training when needed
  • Ensure any communication from the Security team with Property Management is professional and timely
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities when needed
  • Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
  • Responsible for inventory and maintenance of equipment and work area assigned to security team. Inspect for cleanliness, coordinate service and repairs of inoperable or damaged equipment when needed
  • Ensure all “lost and found” procedures are followed, and items secured appropriately until returned to owner.
  • Schedule regular security program performance review meetings with client and Priebe Security management team when needed
  • Participate in budget planning, provide input and recommendations for greater efficiencies and overall service improvement
  • Perform various additional duties as directed by property management
  • Enforce company standards of conduct, policies and procedures
