Job Summary:

The Security Ambassador will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within the hospital premises. This position operates at one level under the Security Officer and requires a proactive approach to security, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various situations with professionalism. They will be responsible for a fixed post or patrolling an assigned area to preserve peace and order, to provide excellent customer service, protect persons and property, and perform duties relating to the welfare and safety of the employees, patients, visitors, and property of WellStar Health System.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

- Provide excellent customer service - The primary point of contact as visitor management. Ensures all visitors are appropriately checked in per policy and procedure. - Provide a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public areas. - Maintain a positive working relationship with facility staff members. - Maintain a thorough knowledge of a facility and where applicable of multiple facilities. - Communicate effectively with diverse people including clients or their representatives, client employees, visitors, or client vendors. - Write accurate, clear, and legible reports. - Attend monthly staff meetings and in-service classes related to the Security Department. - Enforce the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Wellstar Health System - Provide assistance to employees, patients, and visitors. - Assist with traffic and parking control. - Document observations, hazards, and incidents for follow-up corrective action. - Take immediate corrective action against hazards and conditions which may cause injury or damage. - Report any unsafe conditions and actions taken to the supervisor - Safety/ Emergency responsibility response - Assist with emergency response as directed by supervisor. - Respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations - Escort persons and assist facility personnel. - Be vigilant and alert for activities, which could result in injury to a person or damage to or loss of property.
