Job Summary

As an Azure Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a secure Azure cloud environment from the ground-up.

Job Description

We are looking for an Azure Security Engineer to design and implement secure Azure cloud environments from the ground up. This position will be part-time contract and fully remote. This project is slated to start August 3 and run through February 2027.

Only candidates not requiring sponsorship now or in the future will be considered.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement Azure Landing Zone architecture aligned with security best practices

  • Develop and enforce security baselines using Azure Security Benchmark standards

  • Configure and manage Microsoft Defender for Cloud Endpoint and Identity

  • Deploy and configure Microsoft Sentinel for monitoring and threat detection

  • Establish identity governance and privileged access controls including PIM and Conditional Access

  • Integrate SOC and NOC tools with Azure native security platforms

  • Develop vulnerability management and patching strategies

  • Design and implement backup and disaster recovery frameworks

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Microsoft Azure Security Engineer certification or equivalent

  • Experience with Azure security architecture and cloud implementations

  • Experience with regulatory and compliance frameworks (NIST, CMMC, etc.)

  • Experience designing and implementing Zero Trust security models

  • Experience integrating enterprise security tools within Azure ecosystems

  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation processes

  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery architecture

  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Endpoint, and Identity

  • Microsoft Sentinel deployment and configuration experience

  • Strong understand of Azure Security Benchmark and security baseline configuration

  • Experience with Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Conditional Access policy design, identity governance and Zero Trust security controls

  • Skills with SOC/NOC toolset integration with Azure-native security platforms

  • Knowledge of vulnerability and patch management framework

  • Skilled in Backup and Disaster Recovery architecture

Preferred:

  • Experience with enterprise cloud transformations and greenfield Azure implementations

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer utilizing a mouse keyboard and monitor

$100 - $114 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will include 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
