Job description

Position Summary:

Direct Supply is building the future of healthcare technology with industry-leading products, solutions and platforms to help improve the lives of millions of seniors and those who care for them.

In the Security Officer position, you'll be responsible for executing tasks that support a safe and secure work environment. You will encourage compliance of and serve as a subject matter expert on all site-specific policies and procedures related to maintaining a safe and secure environment, while constantly striving to provide outrageous customer service to both our internal customers (Partners) and campus visitors, alike.

The shift for this position is Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm based upon required shift coverage and requires working a weekend rotation every 6-8 weeks or as needed.

  • Lift 35 lbs. unassisted using safe lifting techniques

  • Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking, sitting as much as six hours a day and otherwise moving as much as eight hours a day

  • Ability to walk outside from one to several miles daily on paved walkways throughout the year

What You'll Do and Impact:

  • Responds to requests from Partners with access badge issues, modifying badge access levels, and replacing damaged or lost access badges

  • Grants access to secured offices for Environment Services Partners to complete daily cleaning, and re-secures

  • Removes event-related signage and traffic control devices post event

  • Conducts regular, routine inspections and verifies functionality of gates, emergency exits, fences, exterior doors, and overhead doors

  • Escorts and monitors security system technicians responding to service requests as well as fire and municipal inspectors conducting routine inspections

  • Facilitates campus visits for invited guests, escorting as needed, and providing additional Safety and Security presence as requested

  • Facilitates safe and efficient traffic and crowd control patterns for on-campus special events

  • Manages Guest Services (Campus Main Entrance), screen visitors and provide directions to designated parking areas as well as maintaining the CCTV system

  • Perform safety and security tasks, processes, and assignments with a strong emphasis on outrageous customer service and timeliness

  • Proactively identify and communicate situations and conditions that may pose a risk to Partners, visitors, property, and brand (e.g., valuables left in a vehicle, property damage, defective equipment, gate issues, campus lighting)

  • Respond to ongoing situations for the purpose of preventing or minimizing risk to people and property, including performing First AID and CPR in a medical emergency (training provided)

  • Thoroughly investigate and document circumstances, as well as specific actions taken to maintain or restore safety and security and continuity of business

  • Manage, and communicate safety and security information and administrative requests through ticketing software

  • Perform and document weekly and monthly inspection duties of campus safety and security equipment and infrastructure

  • Appropriately utilize security technology to monitor or investigate conditions

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • 2+ years education in a criminal justice, or similar field of study, or 4+ years of related work experience, preferred

  • Valid, unexpired driver's license with satisfactory driving record

Additional Items of Interest:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Prior law enforcement experience

  • Familiarity with the healthcare field
