Assistant Security Director (Full Time Salaried - Exempt)

United Security Services, Inc., a national security company, is seeking a professional Assistant Security Director for an upscale hotel in the Santa Clara, California area.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of security experience or operational experience with at least 5 years of senior management in a hotel, convention center or similar facility.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and excellent judgement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with interacting, communicating and working jointly with a hotel staff.
  • Possess, or can acquire by time of employment, a California BSIS Security Guard license (CA. Guard Card).
  • Availability and flexibility to work any day, including weekends and holidays, and any work shift based on the operational needs of the hotel.

Preferred:

  • Knowledgeable in the key aspects of management, operations and security; including, but not limited to: Handling security tasks, responding to emergencies, preparing and reviewing incident reports, reviewing CCTV footage, etc.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office and knowledge of security software applications.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the hospitality industry and the related nomenclature in a guest services environment.

Duties:

  • Assist supervisors and existing employees as needed.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and daily meetings when necessary.
  • Work un-scheduled shifts to cover sick or “call-off’s”.
  • Canvass areas as listed in the SOVA program for review.
  • Report findings into SOVA from daily patrols and occurrences make corrections to grammar etc. if necessary.
  • Liaison with contracted security personnel that are assigned and their managers for specific events.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering or Hyatt Management.
  • Meet with local law enforcement to discuss event plans.
  • Investigate any criminal or felonious activity on the property and respond.
  • Develop security plans with potential clients, existing clients and identify vulnerabilities offering suggestions or solutions.
  • Process weekly payroll in ADP and submit to United.
  • Complete OL Tracker for payroll and contracted security payroll of contractors of Hyatt weekly.
  • Conduct Disciplinary investigations of staff and documentation.

Compensation for this position is based on qualifications and experience.
