Position Summary
The Security Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for employees and visitors of the Home Office. The Security Coordinator is actively involved in overseeing the compliance of Costco's security policies and procedures. Additionally, this person will operate a shuttle bus providing transport for employees and visitors around the Home Office campus. The Security department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
  • Assists with security and safety efforts for the Home Office campus.
  • Provides exceptional customer/guest services.
  • Maintains fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
  • Utilizes access control systems and video monitoring systems.
  • Manages front desk and security podium daily operations.
  • Operates and maintains shuttle buses/company vehicles.
  • Operates multi-line phone systems.
  • Assists with set up and breakdown of multipurpose and Budget rooms.
  • Assists with commute guaranteed ride scheduling.
  • Assists with shuttle service scheduling/driving.
  • Serves as staff support to security management and assists in conducting investigations.
  • Assists with Reception tasks when assigned.
  • Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
13 passenger shuttle bus, phones, Sonim radios, fire panels, electric pallet jack, forklift, badge access systems, camera systems, and power tools.
Non-Essential Functions
  • Assists in other areas of the department as necessary.
  • Assists in other areas of the company as necessary.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:
  • Ability to work various shifts which will include overnights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to move and/or lift pallets, packages, ladders, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to walk for long periods of time in adverse weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and have an excellent driving record, and be able to pass a DOT road test.
  • Must be able to pass the DOT physical, and obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Proficiency with a variety of communications equipment and security alarms.
  • Prior experience operating a tablet, PC, laptops and standard office equipment.
  • Strong computer skills including Gmail, Docs and Sheets.
  • Have an excellent safety record.
  • Have the ability to work well under pressure in a stressful and deadline driven environment.
  • Past reviews indicate excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate to employees at all levels.
  • Proven ability to analyze information, draw logical conclusions, and take appropriate actions.
