POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shift Manager, Security Control Room is responsible for directly managing the efficient operation of the Control Room to maximise the protection of the property and ensure a safe, secure and comfortable environment is maintained. The Shift Manager, Security Control Room works inside the Security Control room, providing leadership, motivation and direction to employees, ensuring an immediate response to resolve incidents and providing a function that ensures all operational activities are conducted with the highest levels of quality and integrity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor Key Performance objectives and perform performance appraisals on direct reports.
  • Complete and implement conduct and counselling, feedback and reward and recognition processes.
  • Provide operations and colleague performance reports to superiors as required.
  • Ensure property and Security Control Room operations and procedures are adhered to.
  • Provide accurate monthly reports to superiors.
  • Understand and be able to perform all the functions of the Supervisor, Security Control Room and Senior Officer, Security Control Room roles.
  • Maintain direction, integrity and control over the site Security Access Control system.
  • Implement processes towards continual improvement of product delivery.
  • Ensure direct reports are fully conversant with all responsibilities and have a solid knowledge base.
  • Ensure the Control Room is fully conversant with Emergency Management procedures.
  • Oversee the management of and support direct reports to ensure all systems and equipment is effective and operational.
  • Provide assistance, support and information to security operations.
  • Oversee quality and delivery of training of new Control Room Employees.
  • Perform additional special projects as required by superiors.
  • Manage performance of administrative tasks including reports and compilation of statistics.
  • Adhere to and exhibit pro-active leadership in; as well as monitor staff integrity in accordance with all established policies and procedures within the department and property.
  • Actively participate in health and safety activities to ensure that workplace hazards are minimised and the health and safety of all employees is valued.
  • Implement and monitor the delivery of CCTV monitoring services to Retailers and Hotel environs as contracted.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to superiors and relevant departments
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by superiors from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of four-year Supervisory or Management experience within a CCTV environment
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft software applications
  • Well-developed knowledge of security access control systems and principles
  • Experience in managing employee databases
  • Experience with digital media and storage applications
  • Demonstrated management, leadership and teamwork
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to work with all levels of management
