Summary/Objective:

The Security Analyst II is a role within the Information Security team who is responsible for supporting the organization’s security operations and initiatives. This role involves monitoring and analyzing the Lippert’s networks and systems for security breaches or potential security risks, developing and implementing protective measures, and assisting in the response to any security incidents. The Security Analyst works under the guidance of senior security staff and collaborates with various IT departments to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Continuously monitor security access logs and reports for unusual events or patterns that might indicate a security breach. Use various security tools to detect and analyze potential threats.
  2. Assist in responding to security incidents, including initial analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery. Document incidents from initial detection to final resolution.
  3. Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of information security policies, procedures, and standards.
  4. Participate in regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities. Assist in evaluating the severity of weaknesses and in implementing remediation steps.
  5. Help develop and deliver security awareness training to employees, promoting security best practices and helping to prevent security incidents.
  6. Assist in ensuring that Lippert with applicable laws, regulations, and standards regarding information security. Support internal and external audits related to information security.
  7. Stay informed about the latest security technologies and threats.
  8. Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of the information security program.

Working Conditions:

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field
  2. 2+ years of experience in Information Security

Essential Functions:

  1. Actively monitor and analyze the organization's network traffic, server logs, and other relevant data sources for signs of anomalies or security breaches.
  2. Participate in the initial detection of security incidents and play a role in the response activities, including providing first-level support, helping to isolate affected systems, and assisting in the collection of evidence for further analysis.
  3. Regularly conduct and assist with vulnerability scans and risk assessments, analyzing results to identify security weaknesses within the organization’s IT infrastructure.
  4. Collaborate with IT teams to prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  5. Support the enforcement of security policies and procedures, ensuring that organizational practices comply with internal standards as well as external regulatory requirements.
  6. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of documentation necessary for compliance audits.
  7. Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees, aiming to raise awareness about cybersecurity risks and promote secure practices across the organization.
  8. Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of security tools and systems, such as firewalls, endpoint protection software, and intrusion detection systems.
  9. Prepare regular reports on security monitoring activities, incident response efforts, and compliance status.

Competencies:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including but not limited to, network defenses, threat landscapes, risk management, and data protection.
  2. Competency in using various security tools and technologies, firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
