Job Description

As a Security Officer, your attentiveness, efficiency and commitment will ensure your hotel remains a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination.

Hourly Rate: $29.93

Shift: Overnight shifts

What you will be doing:

  • Provide security, emergency, and first aid assistance
  • Implement, as directed by the Security Manager, all policies and programs related to Security Services
  • Guide and support all leaders and colleagues with respect to safety & security procedures
  • Educate all new Fairmont colleagues on safety & security
  • Assist in the training of all new security officers
  • Create and maintain proper documentation on any incidents reported by guests or colleagues
  • Ensure adherence to Lost & Found procedures including accepting items with proper documentation, assisting colleagues & guests with inquiries, maintaining accurate logs and following retention guidelines. 
  • Investigate and follow up on any reports made by guests or colleagues
  • Review the business continuity plan with the security manager and ensure that all updates are communicated to colleagues, and that all necessary training is provided
  • Conduct lock interrogations and assist Engineering Department with lock repairs
  • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols

Schedule: Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent or vocational training

Experience

  • Security, law enforcement, and/or loss prevention experience is an asset

Licenses or Certificates  (must be provided within 48 hours of an employment offer)            

  • State of Hawaii Guard Card
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Clean Driver's Abstract
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
