Job Overview
This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in building a career in manufacturing. We offer a four-week training program at our clean, climate-controlled Cokato, MN facility. You would develop practical skills in basic welding, metal finishing, and other areas across the shop. Through a structured curriculum and one-on-one guidance with our training manager, participants will gain experience to prepare for their next manufacturing opportunity.
After completing the four-week training program, the Generalist will transition into a shop role supporting our fabrication, metal finishing, quality control, layout, shipping, and controls teams. The Generalist will work under the supervision of our Manufacturing Manager and alongside a dedicated mentor. Ongoing training opportunities will be built into this position to help further your experience and career growth.
What You'll Do
  • Interpret basic weld symbols to complete weldment procedures
  • Read and work with fraction and decimal accurately fitting project components
  • Assemble components using a variety of standard hand tools
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment for quality welds
  • Operate a variety of grinders to prepare, clean and finish welds
  • Routine maintenance keeping building clean and organized

Qualifications
Required:
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Commitment to shop expectations and standards
  • Coachable and having a growth mindset
  • Ability to follow all shop safety guidelines
  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

Preferred:
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with the equipment we make
  • Knowledge of any welding or the use of hand or power tools
  • Prior experience with metal finishing

The Generalist position is designed for individuals who may have limited or no related experience but are interested in exploring and advancing in a manufacturing career. Through a shop-like setting in our training center, participants gain hands-on exposure to the physical demands, workplace culture, and day-to-day conditions of the job.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base compensation for this position. As a result, compensation for the successful candidate(s) may fall anywhere within the stated range.
