Description:
Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Unit Secretary/CNA
The Unit Secretary/Nurse Assistant is a member of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center's healthcare team and is under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse providing quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care by assisting the patient with activities of daily living, as well as, other physical, emotional and spiritual needs consistent with the mission of MercyOne Clinton, vision of patient care services, evidence-based standard of care and established policies and procedures. As a Unit Secretary performs clerical and receptionist duties under the direction and supervision of the Unit Director. The Unit Secretary transcribes selected physician orders, performs order entry on the computer, schedules diagnostic tests and therapies for patients, assembles admission and discharge charts and maintains patient medical records, completes documentation for billing, answers telephone calls, provides routine approved information via telephone and in person and relays other calls and messages to appropriate staff. The Unit Secretary demonstrates professional behavior consistent with the mission of MercyOne Clinton, the Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care and established policies and procedures.
Schedule:
  • Full time .9 (36 hours per week)
  • Day Shift (7pm - 7:30am)

General Requirements:
  • Certified Nurse Aide, verification of certification from the State of Iowa.
  • Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to work concurrently on a variant of tasks in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
  • Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

Education:
  • High school education or equivalent required.
